Tell me a bit about your background(focusing more on what happened after you left high school)

After I left high school I took what seemed like a gap year in an effort to ease myself into the real world and even though I did not cosine initially, I ended up using the rest of that year to improve my marks because my mother strongly suggested it.

My main subjects in high school where Physics and Mathematics and because I was doing so well in both, I became deeply caught up in the idea of being an engineer and there was really nothing that anyone could do to convince me otherwise because in my mind the seed had already been planted.

 I was later accepted in the University of Vaal and had my first formal introduction to Engineering however to my disappointment my obsession for this glorious career which I had long associated my future with came to a sour end when I (and everybody around me) realized my true calling. From the way I carried myself to how accordingly I dressed, there was no possible way of hiding this talent that was nested in me, it was so obvious that I recall an occasion where my lecturer told me in her own words: “You don't belong here”.

And so I dropped out passing through different loops which I also found hard to commit to because they just weren’t meant for me.

How did the inception of your career come about? -Describe any Pull or Push factor unique your scenario that encouraged you to start modelling

Besides being born with fundamental qualities like my body, illuminating attitude and most importantly my flamboyant lingering personality, there was never a defined pull or push factor that influenced me to embark on this career. I however admit that I used to infrequently research models when I was a child and did not really understand how it worked and what it took to get there, but ironically as I grew up and lost interest in it, for some reason, it all came flooding back into my life. Modelling found me.

Are you under any modelling agency? And what is their role in your career?

I am currently being represented by a lady called Lydia who owns an agency called Fabulous Models.

Fabulous Models is gradually growing at a healthy rate and even though it remains a fact that I could very well be exposed to broader opportunities if I were to branch out to a bigger agency, I rather grew to like our prioritized personal-work relationship we have together with my agency and I believe that if I was to jump to a bigger agency all of that would disappear because unlike at Fabulous Models, I would receive divided attention.

If anything Lydia is my best friend and source of motivation and focus. She manages my portfolio, perfects my zen cards, books my shoots, picks me up for my appointments, picks the right look for me for different shoots, she basically makes my work feel more like of a walk in the park.

What is your payment agreement (fix contract or do you get aid per gig)

I had prior signed a contractual agreement with her back when I used to be her only model and at that point the agency had a different name, as time passed and due to changes in business procedures the contract lost its relevance and we reached a consensus that I should get paid per project I do.

This was a great decision and I have since seen more revenue through this method because in modelling there is a variety of fields that one can get summoned to and so I am able to respond to and simultaneously get compensated for different calls like fitting, runway walking and photo shoots

Do you have a full time job elsewhere?

I don't have a job.

I run Zen-Glorious which is a beauty spar specializing in make up, nails, hair and since my recent expansion I was finally able to make capacity for full body massages and move it a step closer to an empire which I want it to one day be.

Born leaders don't function well when they are told what to do and after failing to adapt in formal work environments where I was expected to receive instructions, I decided to erect Zen-Glorious.

Where do you harness your confidence from?

Many people would agree that I grew up an ugly girl and I vividly remember being chosen last most of the time and how I obsessed about wanting to wear the nicest clothes or having boys pursue me like every other female child but that never happened.

Knowing the exact page numbers where I would find them, I was recently perusing through Bona Magazine when I came across a couple of pictures which I had taken a week before, and it is at that moment in history that I had an epiphany! Every thing that I had dreamed of as a child had come true.

Not only am I able to dress how I feel but also have a flock of men trailing behind me....//As she laughs//

Family plays a large role in my life and without my mother in my life it is really hard to imagine where I would be today. She honestly has no interesting in modelling or what so ever but supports and guides me in everything I do. With her by my side I will forever be, as I have always been extremely confident.

Define beauty and what it means to you?

My beauty comes from within, I get a lot of women who's interest is for me to artistically provide them with external beauty and as expected, I give them my best performance but however I still believe that beauty is skin deep.

Designers love me not only because I know how to walk their clothes but also because of the energy and life that I bring every time I work their shows. My presence truly lingers on and nine times out of ten people describe me as bubbly and flamboyant. These are attributes that come effortlessly from within me because they define who I am, beautiful inside and out.

What has been your biggest obstacles and failures thus far and what keeps you motivated to keep on moving?

Well as you know, the modelling industry can be a dangerous place and if you are not cautious you will find yourself in compromising situations that are hard to get out of. Luckily through-out all of my bad encounters like having my pictures posted on facebook after they were taken without my consent or acknowledgement in the locker room, not getting paid, disappearance of pictures and more, I' was still able to gather enough strength to see me through and learn from them.

I have a daily urge to do more because as it is widely known, modelling is a very short career.

Which big modelling companies, or brands do you hope to work with in the future?

I have nothing against South African brands and designers, I just happen to have a personal and overwhelming interest for these two designers and their brands:

What do you see leaking in the youth in this current space in time and what makes you different? 

 

When I look around I notice the scarcity of self reliance within a lot of people and most the youth.

Tell us a bit about your background, would you say that you had a disadvantaged background?

Well, I would give you a common answer of a modest entrepreneur and say I'm just an average Joe but I'm not.

I don't see my upbringing as a disadvantage,I grew up in Soweto and later moved to Alberton. I never really lived a lavish lifestyle but just enough to be exposed to see what money can buy.

   

I was privileged enough to be granted the opportunity to attend school at Maryvale High and later transferred to Marais Viljoen High where I spent my remaining high school years. When I left high school I continued working and remained persistent in chasing my passion for entrepreneurship. 

How did the inception of ONE Media South Africa Group come about? 

ONE Media South Africa Group started off as an entertainment brand that hosted events, hired out different brands and artists like the Cape Town born, talented Idols golden ticket winner Tebogo Louw. A while later, the path that I had chosen caught an eye of private investor who admired what I was doing and wanted to invest in my business. I embraced this opportunity and in no time witnessed a significant growth in my company. 

Describe any Pull or Push factors unique to your scenario that encouraged you to start ONEMediaZA Group

Leaders lead by example and followers follow and if there are any push factors behind starting my own company the blame could be pointed at my un-containable passion for entrepreneurship. Being unable to afford what I desired and the hunger I've always had, and still have, for acquiring and expanding my wealth also pushed me to explore the business world in fact, these attributes played a major role in the lessons I've gathered through my venture. An important one I learned the hard way is that profit is not generated over night and my persistence saw me through this obstacle.

What is ONEMediaZA Group and what ventures does it embark on?

ONEMediaZA Group South Africa is a household of three companies;URmagazine,Eyeon Advertising and DoIT4U that all differ in the service they provide but still share a common focus which is to fully explore and find an untapped niche in the marketing and advertising world.

Urban Reality Magazine commonly know as URmagazine,is a digital magazine that came to life in 2011.It covers and provides feeds on media personalities,business profiles,news,entertainment, money matters,fashion,work opportunities,bursaries,motivational talks and a lot more.The magazine still on hold until further notice

We also create opportunities for young and ambitions students from various varsities by giving them internships to allow them the opportunity of a sound experience of real world work, and based on their performance some of them get rewarded with full time employment within our company.

DoITSolutions4U is an Information technology company which currently provides services like Web development and hosting. We are gradually growing and most of the services we have on the drawing board will soon be implemented in 2015.

Eyeon Advertising is an in house advertising company that is responsible for not only advertising the ONEMediaZA Group and its different aspects and services but also provides outdoor advertising for external clients in different fields of business.

How important is it for a brand to have a strong online presence and how did the Internet help you grown ONEMediaZA Group?

Unlike a lot of common successful business men I never had a mentor when I entered the business world.The Internet cleared out large amounts of confusions that I had and provided me with instant value adding answers for my business.

In this forever expanding digital world of ours where social media has become one's second identity, not only is the Internet the most powerful tool for reaching potential clients and getting leads for your business but it is the most cost effect way of doing it. You can literally convert leads into sales over the net without physically appearing to a client or spending a cent which is why I recommend every businessman and women to fully explore the diverse opportunities that the net has to offer for their business.

Who is your biggest competitor and what sets you apart from other advertising companies?

Because we are a group company that provides different services it is hard to put a finger on our competitors. Our services are tailored to suit unique requirements for unique clients.

Our mission is not to set ourselves remotely apart from other advertising companies because we provide various services that can be found in other companies as well but due to the diverse nature of the compartments within the group, our primary priority is the unforgettable experience that we offer our clients and it is here where we harvest our worker satisfaction.

What obstacles have you encountered with ONEMediaZA Group thus far?

One that stuck with me however was not getting the support I expected from the closest people in my life. I figured since they have always believed in me it would be easy for them to see my vision but to my disappointment none of them thought that going back and forth attending meetings to see this project through was worth sacrificing my time and putting my family on hold.

Another challenge that I faced which is a common obstacle for a lot of entrepreneurs was raising capital and acquiring specific resources that were necessary to get this type of company off the found.   

What has been your biggest breakthrough thus far?

Making my first successful sale that left my client glowing with satisfaction.

  

Has your work at ONEMediaZA been financially rewarding?

I get this question a lot and though ONEMediaZA has been financially good to me, I always warn people not to compare value with money and it is through this principle that I aim to bolster the company's clout. A prolonged sense of relevance is what every company works for and as long as we have a team like ours that lives off innovation and displays it in every project, our time here will always be worth it.  

Which big advertising company do you hope to one day work with in the future?

None. We have already recognized the potential that ONEMediaZA Group has and know that a bright future is coming our way, which is the reason why we are waiting for them to come propose a partnership to us, who knows perhaps we could even end up buying a couple of them in the near future.    

Do you Meditate?

I used to meditate and I enjoyed it but due to the nature of my schedule I hardly have time for it, I even often find myself missing meals just to keep up with it.

I love going out and meeting new people because conversing is where networking starts and I think every one who goes out must learn how to take advantage of it and learn how to politely pick people's brains because every one you meet is a potential client, or even better, you might find yourself a mentor.

Do you have a motto that you live by?

Not a motto but a way of life. I never try to live up to other people's expectations and always remember to make myself happy. There is nothing wrong with having big dreams as long as you do not forget where you come from. 

Stable Job or Entrepreneurship?

Entrepreneurship. Security is overrated.

Would you describe yourself as a "Power hungry entrepreneur"?

Not at all. Anyone can be granted all the power in the world but still not know how to use it.

Do you believe that every one's path has been predetermined for them?

Yes, I strongly believe in destiny and also believe that only people who realize and chose to live for their purpose discover their true potential where else those who live against it tend to be accompanied by misery.

What sets you apart from the youth of today?

I am honestly no different from anyone else I just happen to have been blessed with a lot of influence and some form of dominance over my generation that's all. Apart from that I am just a soul who is trying to do good in this world by doing good things and living for my purpose.  

What is you message to aspiring entrepreneurs and the youth?

Always remember what influences you to begin and what keeps you going. Be thankful for whatever struggle you are going through because it is through it you will learn valuable lessons, besides, someone else is going through an even more gruesome hardship than yours.

Amazing can only be contained for so long, that is the simplest description I have of Simangaliso Owami Dlamini. Let his risk taking personality be a wake up call... I managed to interview him and this is what he had to say about himself..

After high school I went to the university of Johanessburg in Auckland park to study Film and TV and in a short space of 3years I archived my degree. 

During my second and 3rd year I interned at a company called Touch Media Plus were I was a cameraman and editor.

Immediately after finishing my degree I managed to acquire myself an internship at SABC and worked on a show that has not yet been aired called "sheroes".

 A month later, I co-created a popular show for SABC 1 called "Sunday Chillaz". The show aims to reflect and accentuate the Sunday mood using soul music and to my surprise, I was promoted to  Executive Producer of the show. At the tender age of 21 I have produced more than 38 episodes on that show making me the youngest executive producer in South African TV.

Working at SABC was a huge learning curve for me however, as days turned into weeks and weeks into months I had an epiphany. I had always felt strange about working for a paycheck, in my mind it was like working for a false sense of security so I decided to make my dreams my priority. Left with only 13 episodes to produce, I decided to quit my job at SABC and start Vuur Val Productions.

Vuur Val Productions is a television and production company specializing in drama for Tv documentaries and film only. At this moment in time it is still a young production company trying to find its place within the broadcasting industry.

Despite all the help that I receive from my mates I am still the only permanent worker here and everyone else is freelancing. Vuur Val Productions creates and produces documentaries, drama series for tv and films. Our aim is to build a relationship with all big broadcasters and distribution companies in South Africa. 

We are not really big on youtube but in the future we may upload our work for promotion purposes because like with every other project, funding poses a big challenge and without it it becomes hard to set projects off the ground. Alot of artists out there experience the same issue but that alone is not enough to pull us down, doing what we love keeps us motivated.

Currently Vuur Val Production is a consultant to Independent producers who are creating new shows and whatever amount of profit we make through consultation is used to generate our own projects. Once our big projects get a green light we will let people know what to look forward to.

Big companies like Quizzical Pictures which has manged over the years to produce good stories for South Africans is where we draw our inspiration from. We hope to partner with them in the future.

My message to the youth is simple. Rather than working for a salary which can only take you to certain point, work on building your dreams.

Do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone in persuit of your dreams. It might be the best decision of your life!.

Bhakta's plan out of college was to join the Marines, but a shoulder injury ruined that, so he went into investment banking instead. Good day my peoples!

I thought I'd start today by sharing my story so to make you understand the reason why I decided to start this movement. After I graduated  at PC Training and business College in 2012, a sobering slap of reality hit me, in my mind I had managed to somehow imagine a fairy tale beginning where my career would instantly explode into life. But little did I know.

I'm sure a lot of you have been through this similar predicament(some still are) where you hand out so many CV's not a day passes without a signature paper cut on your hand. With not even one call back from all these big companies that I had for years looked up to a kid, I resorted to weekend promotions.

In a nutshell that sucked. I honestly hated it and ended up defaulting and as I was about to quit and pursue my entrepreneurial ventures, a call came in from some big company offering a call center position(I should ignored it!!). Excited at the time I didn't even hesitate, why would I?  It felt like going from broke to rich!!. My first paycheck,love at first sight! I honestly didn't believe that some people spend that kind of money over one weekend.

Little did I know that, that was the beginning of yet another roller coaster ride that would change my life till to day.

Night Shifts!
Working 30 days getting payed once a month!
Too many Rules!
Moody  Management!
Sacrificing the only one chance God gave to Live!
Sacrificing family time!
.....

The list goes on!

:)..so guess what I did...
...I quit! that's right!(don't do this without a plan!)

I am now chasing the only thing that I am willing to die for , my financial freedom.! Amandla!! #fistintheair..
I have realized that after all the long hours at work elevating somebody else's business, only entrepreneurship can save us from all our debts and deliver us our financial freedom.
